This site provides free video tutorials built around Microsoft technologies and Visual Basic. The focus is on Line-of-Business (LOB) applications and thus most tutorials involve databases in one or more ways.

Over the years, as Microsoft released new technologies, there was a tendency to first release examples using C# while Visual Basic examples lagged behind. Because this frustrated many Visual Basic developers (including me), I decided to create VB tutorials and make them available to the community soon after the technology was released. While Microsoft is now doing a better job of supporting 'example parity' between VB and C#, I continue with my tutorials because I like to teach and I have received positive feedback on my efforts.

New tutorials posted to this site will focus on Visual Studio 11 and on Windows 8 development and technologies. Upcoming tutorials will include technologies such as Windows Phone, Windows 8 Metro applications, and underlying programming concepts such as MVVM. I will also include a number of underlying support technologies such as the Entity Framework, RIA Data Services and OData, WPF and XAML (including Expression Blend).
